This Takayama chasen is handcrafted with care by Suikaen (Tanimura Yasaburo, a 25th generation chasen master) in the village of Takayama, Nara Japan. Yasaburo is one of only a handful remaining chasen masters dedicated to crafting bamboo whisks and upholding the techniques passed down for generations.
Each whisk is made from naturally grown bamboo without the use of any chemicals. This is important as the scent of the Chasen affects the delicate taste of the Matcha. This is why a handcrafted chasen is not only a work of art, it also creates the best tasting matcha.
With it's extremly fine prongs it helps you to create micro foam easier and faster. From our own experience, we're are sure it will spark joy with every whisk 🫶🏻
